Customize your degree

During their junior year, our undergraduate students in ECEE are required to select four pathway courses out of six different areas. In order to personalize your experience and pursue the path that is of interest to you, our faculty members host seminars each semester to explain the six different pathways, applications and job opportunities within the fields. If you miss one of the seminars, or if you would like to get a head start, we have provided the powerpoint presentations used by the faculty presenters for you to look through. Each presentation is updated after a seminar is held to provide the most current information.

Electromagnetics
Fall 2014 Seminar: September 18, 2014

Electromagnetics is the study of the effect of charges at rest and charges in motion. This field analyzes, models and designs antenna systems, RF/Microwave circuits, fiber optics and electronic packaging.

Power Systems
Fall 2014 Seminar: October 8, 2014

Our Electric Power and Energy Systems program is one of the largest in the country with a variety of research expertise, simulation tools and experimental capabilities. The program has three subdivisions in power generation, transmission and distribution and electricity utilization.

Control Systems
Fall 2014 Seminar: October 16, 2014

The specialty area of Control Systems covers the topics of: system modeling, control systems design, neural networks, adaptive and learning systems, fault detection and real-time control applications. These topics are applied in fields from aerospace and semiconductors to power systems and biomedical.

Signal Processing and Communications
Fall 2014 Seminar: October 16, 2014

Signal Processing involves sound, images and sensor data, while Communications provides society with storage such as hard drives and connectivity such as the internet and mobile phones.

Solid-State Electronics
Fall 2014 Seminar: October 8, 2014

Solid-State Electronics deals with circuits and devices build from and contained within solid materials. Some examples are microchips, LED and LCD devices. The field covers topics including: semiconductor devices and materials, characterization, photonic/photovoltaic devices, semiconductor processing/intelligent control, nanoelectronics, molecular electronics and transport and computational electronics.

Electronic and mixed-signal circuit design
Fall 2014 Seminar: September 18, 2014

The Circuits pathway familiarizes students with analog circuit design, digital and VLSI circuits, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and RF and microwave IC’s. These have applications in wireless technologies, security and bio-technologies.

Co-Op Educational Program and Internships
Fall 2014 Seminar: September 30, 2014

Get the experience you need through ASU Fulton Co-op – Work and Learn
The Co-op program is optional but highly recommended if you want work experience that employers are looking for in new graduates. Cooperative education is a structured method of complimenting classroom education with paid practical work experience. This seminar will also provide information on internships.
