Research expertise: Computational electromagnetic methods for antennas and scattering, flexible and conformal antennas, high impedance surfaces (HIS), RCS reduction techniques using EBG checkerboard surfaces, metasurfaces for antenna pattern beam forming, ferrite-loaded non-uniformly biased CBS antennas, smart/adaptive antennas for wireless communications
Constantine A. Balanis joined the electrical engineering faculty in 1983 and is now an ASU Regents’ Professor. He has published over 160 journal papers, 268 conference papers, 12 book chapters, nine magazine/newsletter papers and numerous scientific reports. He has also published four books:
