Hailing from the Midwest, Toller Phipps came to Arizona State University as an out-of-state student eager to take advantage of the myriad of opportunities provided by living and studying at the university.
Toller is part of engineering clubs and an executive for ASU’s chapter of the Alexander Hamilton Society. He also passionately attends any ASU sporting event that he can.
He is a student in Barrett, The Honors College at ASU to take advantage of the enhanced academic support it provides and the opportunity to register early for classes.
Toller became interested in electrical engineering when he and his partner became the Kansas state champions in a mobile robotics competition. He intends to work in the areas of energy storage and artificial intelligence.
Toller’s advice for students:
“Get involved on campus with the clubs or teams that interest you. You need to be involved to truly enjoy the college experience. Also, make sure you constantly go to career fairs, get your name out there and practice interviewing. You might not be qualified now, but you will be one day.”
