Mudit Garg

Mudit Garg, a student from India, has always been deeply passionate about mathematics and physics. Initially enrolling at Arizona State University as a computer science student in spring 2024, he soon realized his true interest lay in circuit design. This realization led him to transition to electrical engineering with a minor in physics in spring 2025, aligning his academic pursuits with his passion for electronics and experimental physics.
Mudit aspires to pursue a Ph.D. in experimental physics and dreams of one day working at CERN, home to the world’s largest Hadron Collider in Switzerland. Taking early steps toward this goal, he actively seeks research opportunities and engages in scientific projects. He is currently a lab volunteer, contributing to research on the application of polarimetric imaging technology in biomedical studies. His hands-on experience in experimental physics is equipping him with essential skills for a future in advanced research.
Mudit is an active participant in the Grand Challenges Scholars Program, where he contributed to a sustainability project and authored a research paper on the security theme, further broadening his academic and professional horizons.
Beyond academics, he has devoted the past several months to fitness and strength training, developing a deep passion for weightlifting and calisthenics. Always eager to explore new sports, he has tried various athletic activities and is particularly fascinated by fencing. Given the opportunity, he hopes to refine his skills further and compete in competitive matches in the future.
Mudit’s advice to students:
“College life is a journey filled with unforgettable moments — embrace every one of them. Some days may be tough, but each morning brings new opportunities, surprises and joy. Don’t dwell too much on setbacks; a small mistake could either be a valuable lesson or a cherished memory that lasts a lifetime. Live, learn and make the most of every experience.”
