Billal Abulfotuh

Billal is currently an undergraduate student at Arizona State University, majoring in electrical engineering. His interest is mainly in PCB and embedded systems design. Billal has contributed to a multitude of Luminosity Lab projects, ranging from a Cube Satellite project, where he is working on designing a metasurface for space testing, to Project KIP, where he is applying his PCB design skills to develop an assistive robot.
The best part of his day is the time he gets to spend volunteering and promoting greater access to college! Billai plans to pursue a master’s in electrical engineering at ASU and then work for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, or NREL.
Billal’s advice to students:
“Put yourself out there and try new things, even if you think you won’t like them. Some of my favorite experiences at ASU have been doing things I originally thought I wouldn’t enjoy. The best part about ASU is that, because it is so big, you have the chance to try many different things and find out what you enjoy and what you don’t.”
