Moksha Dalal

Moksha Dalal began studying electrical engineering at Arizona State University in the fall of 2024. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, she is a student in Barrett, The Honors College, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a minor in business.
Growing up in a family of engineers, Moksha was introduced to engineering from an early age. However, it was her AP Physics II class in high school that solidified her passion for electrical engineering. Through learning about electricity, circuits and electromagnetism, she discovered an interest in how electrical systems work and the impact they have on everyday life.
In addition to serving as an electrical engineering student ambassador, Moksha is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, or IEEE, student chapter and the Society of Women Engineers, or SWE. She also works as an undergraduate teaching assistant for FSE 100, where she enjoys helping first-year engineering students navigate the transition to college. Beyond academics, Moksha serves as a community assistant in Tooker House, fostering a supportive residential community for engineering students. She is also currently an electrical engineering intern at WSP, where she continues to gain industry experience and develop a deeper appreciation for the practical applications of electrical engineering.
After completing her bachelor’s degree, Moksha plans to pursue ASU’s accelerated master’s degree program in electrical engineering before beginning her career where she hopes to contribute to innovative solutions in the power and renewable energy sectors.
Outside of engineering, Moksha enjoys distance running, traveling with her family and watching movies.
Moksha’s advice for students:
“It’s okay not to have everything figured out when you start college. Engineering will challenge you, but trust your ability to persevere. Make time for the people and hobbies that keep you grounded, because taking care of yourself is just as important as succeeding in the classroom. Technical knowledge will make you a capable engineer, but empathy, kindness and the ability to understand the people you’re designing for are what make you a great one.”
